Resume

Artist Biography:

Nitya Agrawal is a contemporary visual artist whose practice is rooted in introspection, imagination, and a profound emotional connection with nature. Her landscapes — often devoid of human or animal presence — symbolize environmental fragility and humanity’s subtle yet powerful impact on ecological balance. Through silence, texture, and layered surfaces, she constructs emotional terrains that exist between memory and imagination.

Her artistic journey reflects continuous experimentation, technical refinement, and conceptual growth. Working extensively in mixed media, she incorporates materials such as sculpture paste, sand, rubber bands, tapes, and layered acrylics to create tactile depth and dimensionality. For Nitya, texture becomes both a visual and symbolic language — representing memory, erosion, healing, and transformation.

Although many of the landscapes she paints are not physically visited, she believes their essence resides within her. This intuitive connection allows her to translate imagined geographies into immersive visual experiences infused with calmness, peace, and introspective energy.

ARTISTIC EVOLUTION & PRACTICE:

Nitya’s early works demonstrate a strong academic foundation in drawing, printmaking, and observational studies, including aquatint, etching, dry point, charcoal studies, and still-life compositions. Works such as Freedom Fighter (Mahatma Gandhi Ji) and Pichwai Art (Shree Nath Ji) reflect her grounding in cultural narratives and traditional Indian visual sensibilities.

By 2023–2024, her practice matured into more conceptually layered mixed media landscapes including:

  • Into the Woods

  • Rainbow Forest

  • Memory of K – Trail

  • Path to Nowhere

  • Path to Solace

  • What Greenery Reflects?

  • Lines Scape

  • Art Complex (Memory Composition)

These works explore emotional landscapes, imagined pathways, and environmental symbolism through textured surfaces and sculptural layering. Beyond canvas, Nitya has expanded her practice into:

·Public Wall Art & Murals

  1. Creative Adda (Production House & Café), Andheri – 2023

  2. David Sassoon Children School, Matunga, Mumbai – 2024

·Digital & Curatorial Exploration

  1. Digital immersive wall concept (Corals, 2024)

  2. Exhibition spatial planning using AutoCAD & Photoshop (2024)

This interdisciplinary engagement reflects her evolving interest in immersive environments and experiential art spaces.
